Thankfully the wifi worked but it was slow, probably because everyone was on it since there was no tv. In addition to an indoor pool, Best Western Plus High Sierra Hotel provides a spa tub and a fitness center. The hotel did offer to let me off the reservation from the second night, but I decided to stick it out, enjoy the skiing, and try not to think about this bad lodging experience.

At least it has convenient parking and is within a mile of the village, restaurants, bars, etc. Just draw the curtains, enjoy the unusual but cool looking free toiletries, the brass hardware fixtures, and the convenient microwave and frig that actually has a freezer in it. All other park entrances, including those along Highway 120 from the west, Hetch Hetchy, Highway 140, and Highway 41, remain open all year.

Best Western Plus High Sierra Hotel: 2018 Room Prices $145, Deals & Reviews

Good breakfast with made to order eggs and cheese omelets. Our room seemed to be recently remodeled, with nice fixtures and good storage. Our room did not have a safe, but it was not needed, only noted. Quite a bit of covered parking. Five stars within its category. Nice pool that is a bit chilly, and is 5ft at its deepest. This is the premier be brand after all. After reading Emily's responses to the low star reviews, she seems like she actually despises every customer that walks through the door. She blames slow internet on guests using too many devices, she dismisses best western plus high sierra hotel legitimate complaints by attempting to discredit the authors of said complaints, actually going as far as to take an accusatory stance and suggest that perhaps the guests are just trying to scam the hotel out of a free night. Nothing about the operators of this hotel seems to reflect hospitality in the least bit. I'm trying to book a relaxing vacation at a clean and professional establishment, not enter into a battle royale with a rude staff who doesn't want to best western plus high sierra hotel peoples' reasonable requests. Perhaps the hospitality industry isn't the best career choice for these two. The rooms nice enough, but I need a few basic things where this hotel fell flat. First the pop-up in the shower wouldn't stay open, they kept saying someone would come to fix it, but it never happened, so I ended up unscrewing it. Second the laundry is cash only, but they don't have an atm. The worst experience I've ever had!. We stayed there for 2 days and got rashes all over our bodies!. Needless to say the pool smelled really bad we even couldn't use it!. Pricier than most hotels here. Are the perks worth it though. If they don't forget, the also have a bottle of Aqua Panna for your enjoyment. The breakfast is just great, nice selection and they will cook your eggs however you want it as well as the pancakes. The only downside is the parking. It can get full and then you'll end up parking. We parked around 5pm and were to afraid to go eat with the car just to not lose the spot. I stayed here last night. I was given a handicapped room because that's all that was left. I didn't mind, the room was quite spacious. Everything was neat and clean except the ceiling over the shower was starting to hang from I assume the moisture from the shower. The shower pressure was the strongest I've ever seen in a hotel and it was great. The towels seemed to be thicker then normal hotel towels which was also great. There were earplugs provided in the room which I ended up using because I was woken up by people making noise in the hall. The breakfast was really nice: lots of fresh fruits, eggs, potatoes, hot and cold drinks, cereals and pastries. There was a station where a guy makes eggs to order and pancakes. The only huge negative thing was that the tv service was down the entire night in the whole hotel. Thankfully the wifi worked but it was slow, probably because everyone was on it since there was no tv. When I got up this morning the tv was still not working. I could have tried the Shilo Inn again, but this one got some pretty good reviews. The Best Western is off an access road and you'll miss it unless you're paying attention. There's a decent amount of parking but if it fills up I'm not sure that they wouldn't run out. They give you a permit to hang on your rear view mirror and a warning to make sure your car doesn't contain anything appealing to bears. The front desk staff are very nice. They have little packets of Crest if you need toothpaste and if you're a member, they offer you points or a snack and water when you check in. Best western plus high sierra hotel renovating so the view outside isn't very appealing. Just best western plus high sierra hotel the curtains, enjoy the unusual but cool looking free toiletries, the brass hardware fixtures, and the convenient microwave and frig that actually has a freezer in it. Wifi is decent and solid but not speedy. They have a complimentary hot breakfast in the morning which you should get a voucher for when you check in. I didn't have room for it, but you get your eggs and potatoes from the chef or just pick what you like from the buffet. You can't take it from the cafe, though. You must eat it there. Not appealing for me so I skipped it. Really, the best part of my stay was the bed. They have a topper on the mattress that's awesome. Beats every hotel bed I've tried. Stay away from here and save yourself the drama. This place is really missing the mark in their client relations and customer service departments. We had some customer service issues we tried to bring up to the manager, Lucero and she was hearing none of it. This girl should never be employed in any management capacity. She insulted us rudely and questioned our integrity and basically called my husband and me liars. These people are total jerks. There are better, roomier, friendlier places to stay in mammoth that don't cost as much as this place. The manager Lucero is ignorant and will do absolutely nothing to help you. If you enjoy being yelled at, accused and hung best western plus high sierra hotel on then this place place might be for you. These are things their staff excels at. During my July 2017 stay, this hotel was undergoing renovations of the hallways. I wish they started with the rooms first. At least it has convenient parking and is within a mile of the village, restaurants, bars, etc. The tub was huge, with a sign saying the jets in it don't work. Rusty water belched from the tub tap whenever I turned on the shower. At least the room was very clean, didn't smell funny, and had a fridge. Breakfast was served in what looked like a conference room, which is too small. A couple mornings there was nowhere to sit; in one particularly rough feeding time, in the jostle of the crowd, somebody jacked my toast before I could return to the toaster. Pure clusterfkery abounded with employees trying to do the best they could. I didn't use the indoor pool or jacuzzi, but they looked clean. The only reason that I am giving a 1 star rating, is because there isn't an option for zero stars. It would probably be okay if you don't run into any issues. However, if you do, be prepared to experience the most unimaginable treatment by of all people, the management. Specifically, a female manager by the name of Lucero. We arrived on a hot summer evening to find that our thermostat was not working and had no power. I immediately went to the front desk to inform the staff. I gave her my room number verbally and physically showed it to her. Meanwhile, we opened the window for some air and discovered that there wasn't a screen. After my children and myself were bitten repeatedly by mosquitos, we opted to close the window. After about an hour and a half of no response from the maintenance person, I went back to the front desk to see about the delay. The representative at the front desk tells me that she had given the maintenance person the incorrect room number. Room 205 instead of my room, 105. He knocked and no one answered so he left. Now he was on a break and wouldn't be back for a half an hour. She appeared shocked that my room had no screen. About an hour later a gentleman knocked at the door and appeared equally as shocked that there was no screen. He reset a power switch on th power cord of the wall unit and the thermostat was back in working order. At this point, I was just happy that the problem was rectified. The next morning, we had an amazing breakfast. The staff was great and they made chocolate chip pancakes for our kids. We returned to our room and my wife took a shower. At approximately 9:30 am my wife came out of the shower and we heard a knock at the door and immediately best western plus high sierra hotel housekeeper walked into our room. My wife standing there in a towel. At this point I am livid. I go to the front desk and ask for a manager. Staff person said that she hadn't arrived yet. We were told upon leaving that the manager still hadn't arrived and that my phone number would be left with her. I was told that she would call me immediately when she arrived. This is where real fun begins. I spoke to a woman named Lucero. The lying started almost immediately. Every complaint that I had was turned around into something that I was being either dishonest about, or something that I was purposely fabricating. I was hung up on 3 times. I was told that our call was dropped and that she had even left a voicemail. She told me that none of the room had screens on them and that we were helped immediately. I asked to speak to another manager and was told that she was the only manager and that she dealt directly with the owner of the property. She was the final authority. She said that no housekeeper had walked into our room and that I was abusive toward her staff. I have read multiple 1 star reviews on Trip Advisor that had similar complaints and were all responded to with the same manipulation and pathetic attempt to discredit genuine complaints from what seemed to be honest customers. This is the single worst experience that my family has ever had on any vacation or otherwise. We have been violated and disrespected so badly that not only will I not stay in this particular establishment again, I will probably never stay in any Best Western if this is the type of people that thy allow to run their establishments. My wife is currently composing a 1 star trip advisor review based on this experience. I am eager to see what sort of pathetic response wiil be composed in another effort to discredit honest, hardworking, and well respected families that just want to give their hard earned money to stay in a nice and clean place where they can feel comfortable and respected. Worst experience at a hotel ever!. My jaw literally dropped at how little she cared about a guests stay. They remodeled the interior but not the staff. Hotel is under massive construction no light in room for several hour called front desk requested to speak with Mgr no response we have to move to different hotel because of horrible experience. Paid twice try to get hold of Mgr very busy does not care. My family in hotel business too never seen these kind bad service. Never offer me credit Day I did not stay there stay away do not stay there. Stay away do not stay there rip off. Already made a complaint to better business bureau and hotel association. She is from Dominican Republic and we ended up singing songs of Juan Luis Guerra, the most famous singer from that country. A warm way for a cold night. Located in the main street, it was perfect for my first approach to Mammoth lakes. I had a blast in the area and my boyfriend decided it was better for me to stay at a hotel instead of camping definitively will do that another time. I loved and would love to come back. Next time will bring my bikini to use the heated pool too. Hello Emily, I appreciate your effort of investigating this issue. I too was surprised at the service I got as I have stayed with best Western before and had a complaint free stay. I also am aware that some people will go to extreme measures to get a free ride. That being said, my experience happened as I explained it. So I did not appreciate being treated like I am a dishonest, untruthful person multiple times by different people on the staff. I am not looking for any compensation. I simply want people to know of my experience while making their choice on a hotel. The hotel is going through renovations, as others have mentioned. I booked the only two-bedroom king-beds room in the hotel. That's a big detail to omit. The online pictures were taken in such a manner to make it look like the windows were exterior facing windows, but they were not. The receptionist agreed, when I showed them the pictures, that it was not clear. Even as I write this review, the hotel website is still falsely advertising the basic description of this room. When I spoke with the manager, they would not offer a partial refund for this. Instead, they said they do not control the text description on the website. And no effort was made to reach out to me prior to my stay to inform me of this gross misrepresentation the hotel says they made an effort, but I certainly was not notified. I tried finding another property to stay in, but having arrived at 6pm on Sunday, there was no way to quickly find and move to a new hotel with a 2-bedroom suite at a comparable price. The hotel did offer to let me off the reservation from the second night, but I decided to stick it out, enjoy the skiing, and try not to think about this bad lodging experience. Anyways, I guess I should have expected this from Best Western; not exactly a hotel chain known for consistently good quality. Sometimes they are good, sometimes they fall off the wagon like this. On the upside, the breakfast and breakfast staff are good. But still leaving a one-star review for bad customer service and totally false advertising. My email and phone were on the reservation. Hotel did not call me. Please do not imply that I missed your message when it was never left. I requested a partial, reasonable refund for the improperly advertised room. You used to be a good hotel. I typically do not write reviews but have to at least let people know my experience, so in the future they may have a better experience. Yesterday, I got in late from a flight, checked in the hotel, showered and jumped in bed but left the lights off and didn't check the bed. In the morning with the lights on, I inspected the bed further. The bed had black dots that looked like bed bugs, as well as long female hair in it. I did not have my spouse with me and it really looked like the bed was never cleaned. I immediately went to the front desk to see if there was a solution and the front desk person said they can't make any decisions or comps until the manager is in. By the time I walked back to my room, the bed was cleaned and re made within 10 minutes to cover their tracks. Since I had a mountain biking appointment, I had to leave in the morning staying two nights. I finally get back after the day of mountain biking and the manager, Brent Cooley, accused me of lying and attempting to get a free room. He also accused me that I brought the dirt into the bed and that the bed bugs residue was from me. It was very disappointing that Best Western did not meet their corporate standards. But it was more disappointing that the manager Brent Cooley had an attitude that he was the owner and sole proprietor of the hotel and didn't respect me as a person or a customer. He even didn't even seem to have respect for Best Western as a brand, and even said that I can call corporate if I'd like, and that they wouldn't do anything. I would 100% say this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and in the future will ensure all business conferences that I have planned will be with a more reputable company.

That's a big detail to omit. Hotel Description Enjoy the indoor pool at this Mammoth Lakes hotel In Mammoth Lakes You'll find Mammoth Hospital and Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center within a 15-minute walk of this Mammoth Lakes hotel. Rusty water belched from the tub tap whenever I turned on the shower. Government-issued photo identification and a credit card or cash deposit are required at check-in for incidental charges. We look forward to your visit! Special requests cannot be guaranteed. Room 205 instead of my room, 105. There are better, roomier, friendlier places to stay in mammoth that don't cost as much as this place.
